Welcome to the department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The department is committed to provide wide range of programmes that produce innovative, adaptable and well-rounded graduates who are capable of providing direct positive impact to the industry. The department is considered to be one of the innovation center and creative to provide local, regional and international communities with the required solutions to economic problems.
The department of ICT is responsible for providing teaching, research and innovations that can directly be applied to solve national and societal problems. The department offers high quality teaching services and promotes research activities from both students and members of the academic staff.

Vision
The need for technologically competent workforce is on the increase world over. ICT knowledge and related skills are becoming an important factor of every sector of the economy, as a result department of ICT aims at addressing the growing need for professionals capable of integrating computing into business.
Mission
The mission of the department is to prepare qualified graduates in the field of information technology in order to meet the requirements of the labour market and to keep abreast of developments in its various fields. Additionally, it is the message of the department to carry out theoretical and scientific research that helps in serving the community and contributes to building and developing the knowledge society.
Objectives
- To advance and contribute to leading-edge research, scholarship, and advancement activities toward the University's goal of being a hub of research and innovation in Zambia and beyond;
- Maintain a healthy enrollment, student retention, and a supportive and flexible learning environment to accommodate students' individual backgrounds, needs, and aspirations;
- Contribute to professional, academic, and public interests through alumni engagement, faculty and staff development, continuing education, and disciplinary leadership
